Tuck to the edge, call it back

The overlay does not need the whole screen.

Support tucks tickets to the right, a strip remains, a message slides it out. 1.3.9 did left and right. 1.8.0 added top and bottom. When a secondary display sits left of or slightly above the primary, 1.8.2 peeks flush with that screen instead of jumping home.

This is a pop-out skill. The workspace main window is not a desktop widget.

Edge-hide: the window tucks to a strip, then slides out on hover. Left and right first, then top and bottom. Maximized windows stay put.

Tonight

Turn on edge-hide in Settings. Drag an independent window to the edge. Leave it and it tucks; it will not pop immediately, so it does not jitter. Maximized or fullscreen windows do not tuck — restore first.

A left-click on the tray also slides a tucked window out. You do not have to hunt the strip.

Do not

  • Do not expect edge-hide on a maximized window. Restore first.
  • Do not fling the main workspace window to the edge as a gadget. Daily group switching stays in the main window.
  • If repeated top-tuck walks the window right, update through 1.8.2.

When clicks should miss the widget: Lock as widget.
