A pile of tabs is not a desk

You do not need more tabs.

You buried morning support, writing, and charts in one browser window. Notices, ads, and yesterday’s docs share one strip. The thirtieth time you hunt for inbox, your hands are tired first.

Floweb 2.0 is not a full browser. It is a workspace: groups on the dock, a tab bar that belongs to this group, canvas opens now. Switching to “writing” swaps the dock and the tabs. It does not spawn a pile of OS windows.

Workspace: the dock is groups, the tab bar belongs to the current group, the canvas loads now. Switching groups does not spawn a pile of OS windows.

Tonight, three steps

Do not invent a perfect taxonomy. Put the site you are using into the current group.

  1. Install Floweb. Pick a group in the dock, or stay on Home.
  2. Click + on the tab bar, paste a URL, Enter. The canvas loads. See Getting started.
  3. Add a second. Free keeps two live sites. A third asks you to sleep one, or upgrade. The cap is not catalog size — presets can be many.

Need always-on-top, opacity, or edge-hide? Pop out a window. Home icons pop out by default; Settings can keep them in the workspace.

If one browser window can no longer tell you what you are doing, group. Do not create empty groups for sites you might need.

The workspace is not Launchpad

Home is an icon library. Daily work is the dock and the tab bar. Clicking a tab switches inside the group. It does not pop out unless you ask.

Groups as desks: Groups are desks.

Do not

  • Do not treat Floweb as a Chrome replacement. No bookmark bar, download center, or extension store.
  • Do not pop out ten windows first. Use the group; pop out when you need the front of the screen.
  • Do not treat the third live site as a bug. Free live is two, same idea as peers.

Next: A window when you need one, Features.
